Presentation feedback 17/04/2008

The presentation went quite well, we all pitched our ideas and it seems Heritage were overwhelmed by the sheer volume of usuable ideas by our group. I've detailed the groups ideas in my reflective journal and i'll list a few of the ideas that i feel are relavent to me and my direction and could be adapted to suit.

But first off I'll reflect on my feedback:

Chris liked the simple organic form my idea is based around. I've noticed that alot of the other idea being generated are very figuarative, being based around objects such as maps, chests, telescopes, fish tanks and other related items. I think by keeping a conceptual form the viewers will play the "cloud game" and interpret it as they see fit. This was done at the presentation, where people said it looked liked currents and waves, or more interestingly sea creatures such as barnicles, plankton or mollusc that had encrusted the ship. This led to the idea of the users, physically changing the space, perhaps writing nots and attaching them to the sculpture to create a literal encrustation of the space. This is an idea i can work work, perhaps using technology to make it a bit more elegant and appealing to the cleaners of the exhibition.
Reguarding the globes themselves thier colour was debated and the was they could be lit, phorspherence was suggested as was chainging the globes to disks, an idea i might try out although I think i'm pretty much set on the globe idea due to the mirror it has to the vortex globe within the experinence.

::TO BE ADDED TOO::

So now i'm off to research mollusc...?
